Banca Dâmbovița S.A., commonly known as Banca Dâmbovița, is a Romanian commercial bank headquartered in Bucharest. It was founded there in 1898 as a privately owned joint-stock bank. The bank initially provided credit to merchants and manufacturers. It also financed grain warehouses, commercial property and municipal construction in Bucharest.

Branches outside Bucharest began opening during the early twentieth century. After 1918, Banca Dâmbovița absorbed smaller provincial credit houses and extended its network across Romania. The Romanian state nationalized the bank in 1948 but kept it operating under its existing name.

In 1990, the institution was reorganized as Banca Dâmbovița S.A. The Romanian state still held a majority share in 2002. At that time, the bank operated 164 branches and 12 regional cash-processing centres.

By around 2010, the Bucharest Butchers had gained near institutional control over Banca Dâmbovița. Butchers-linked companies and intermediaries held shares in the bank, while loyal figures occupied senior management positions.
