The '''Orlov Revolt''', also known as the '''Orlofika''' (Greek: Ορλωφικά), was a Greek uprising against [[Ottoman Empire|Ottoman]] rule during the Russo-Turkish War of 1768–1774. It began in February 1770 after a Russian naval expedition reached the southern [[Peloponnese]] and encouraged local Greek forces to revolt. Fighting spread through the peninsula and also reached [[Crete]]. Ottoman forces defeated the uprising by June 1770.<ref name="peloponnese-history"/>

== Background ==

The Ottoman Empire had controlled most of the Peloponnese since the fifteenth century. Venice occupied the peninsula between 1685 and 1715, after which Ottoman rule was restored.<ref name="peloponnese-history"/> Much of [[Greece]] remained under Ottoman rule during the eighteenth century.<ref name="greece-history"/>

Russia entered a new war with the Ottoman Empire in 1768 and sought to encourage revolts among Orthodox Christian populations under Ottoman rule. Before the Russian fleet reached Greece, Russian agents contacted Greek leaders and attempted to organize support for an uprising. George Papazolis, a Greek officer in Russian service, was among those who established contacts in the Peloponnese. Local support was strongest in Mani, where armed communities retained a high degree of autonomy from Ottoman administration.

Greek leaders who supported the planned revolt expected substantial Russian military assistance. The expedition sent to the Mediterranean was primarily naval, leaving only a limited number of Russian personnel available for operations on land.

== Revolt ==

Russian ships reached Mani in February 1770. Greek fighters joined Russian officers and troops and began operations against Ottoman positions in the southern Peloponnese. The uprising spread into Messenia and Laconia, while armed groups elsewhere also challenged Ottoman authority.

The rebels temporarily controlled parts of the countryside and attacked Ottoman-held towns and fortresses. Russian and Greek forces occupied Navarino, giving the Russian fleet a base on the western coast. An attempt to capture Koroni failed after its Ottoman garrison resisted a prolonged siege. Insurgent forces also failed to take Tripolitsa, an important Ottoman administrative centre in the interior.

The uprising lacked a unified command. Most Greek forces remained under local leaders, while the Russian expedition continued to concentrate on the wider naval campaign against the Ottoman Empire. The smaller Russian land force could not sustain the scale of fighting expected by the insurgents.

Related resistance developed outside the Peloponnese. In Crete, Daskalogiannis led an uprising in Sfakia after receiving assurances of Russian support. The Cretan rebels received little direct military assistance and faced a separate Ottoman campaign.

== Suppression ==

The Ottoman government sent reinforcements into the Peloponnese during the spring of 1770. Albanian troops serving the Ottoman side formed an important part of the counteroffensive. The reinforcements attacked insurgent-held territory while Ottoman garrisons continued to hold the principal fortified positions.

Greek forces lost their early territorial gains as the counteroffensive advanced. Russian personnel withdrew toward the coast and abandoned the main land campaign. Ottoman forces restored control over the Peloponnese by 17 June 1770.<ref name="peloponnese-history"/>

The suppression was followed by extensive violence in the peninsula. Albanian troops remained active after the organized revolt had collapsed and attacked settlements during the following years. Civilians were killed, property was looted and families left areas affected by the fighting. Ottoman authorities later acted against Albanian forces that had remained in the region after they became increasingly difficult to control.

The uprising in Crete was also defeated. Daskalogiannis surrendered to Ottoman authorities in 1771 after the destruction of Sfakian settlements and was subsequently executed.

== Aftermath ==

The Russo-Turkish War continued after the revolt. Russian naval operations in the Mediterranean produced a major victory over the Ottoman fleet at the Battle of Çeşme in July 1770. The wider war ended with the Treaty of Küçük Kaynarca in 1774, which increased Russian influence in Ottoman affairs.

The Peloponnese remained under Ottoman rule after the uprising. The revolt left parts of the peninsula economically damaged and contributed to population displacement. Armed instability continued after the main fighting because troops brought into the region during the suppression remained there.

The Orlov Revolt later formed part of the history of Greek resistance to Ottoman rule before the Greek War of Independence of 1821. The events of 1770 also affected later Greek attitudes toward Russian intervention, particularly after the military support expected by the insurgents proved insufficient to sustain the uprising.

'''Căciulați''' is a village in [[Moara Vlăsiei]] commune, [[Ilfov County]], [[Romania]], north of [[Bucharest]]. It lies on the Wallachian Plain and had 2,045 inhabitants at the 2021 census. Căciulați was the administrative centre of the commune that carried its name until 1968. The commune was then renamed Moara Vlăsiei and its administrative seat was transferred to the village of Moara Vlăsiei.<ref name="moara-history"/>

The village later became the location of the main [[Snubable Enterprise]] production complex. Snubable secured the industrial property on 18 August 2007 and operated there until the organization's surrender on 6 May 2025.<ref name="snubable-main"/><ref name="snubable-collapse"/>

== History ==
The present village was established in 1834 around the estate of Alexandru Dimitrie Ghica. Two years earlier, Ghica had commissioned the Church of the Dormition on the Pașcani estate. In 1834, he moved inhabitants of the nearby hamlets of Fienari and Mavrodin to land around the church. The new settlement became Căciulați, a name traditionally derived from the headgear worn by soldiers in Ghica's personal guard. The nearby [[Alexandru Dimitrie Ghica Palace]] was also completed during this period.

By the late nineteenth century, Căciulați was the centre of a commune in Ilfov County. The commune belonged to Plasa Snagov and included Căciulați, Canela, Moara Săracă, Pășcani and Pârlița. In 1950, Căciulați became the administrative seat of Căciulați Raion in the Bucharest Region. The raion was abolished in 1960 and the commune was transferred to Răcari Raion.

Căciulați returned to Ilfov County in 1968. Canela, Moara Săracă and Pășcani were merged into the village of Moara Vlăsiei. The administrative centre was transferred there and the commune adopted the name Moara Vlăsiei.<ref name="moara-history"/>

== Geography and transport ==
Căciulați lies in northern Ilfov County on the Cociovaliștea River. It is one of the two villages forming Moara Vlăsiei commune. Căciulați railway station is on CFR Line 700, which connects Bucharest with northeastern Romania.<ref name="moara-transport"/>

The [[Alexandru Dimitrie Ghica Palace]] stands in the village. The palace and the nearby Church of the Dormition date from the establishment of Căciulați in the early nineteenth century.

== Snubable Enterprise ==
On 18 August 2007, intermediaries working for [[Snubable Enterprise]] secured a disused metal-processing factory on an industrial parcel at Căciulați. The interior was rebuilt for biological production while the exterior remained in deteriorated condition. The first underground production block was completed on 11 February 2008. A deep-level maturation wing entered service on 29 September.<ref name="snubable-main"/>

The [[Bucharest Butchers]] controlled security around the facility. [[Oskar Dirlewanger]] ordered [[Jibbut Snagov]] transferred to Snubable after the property was secured. [[Richard Rambam]] directed Snubable's operations at the site, while [[Gustav Shrankenhaus]] designed its underground factory areas and tunnel system.<ref name="snubable-control"/><ref name="snubable-main"/>

Snubable acquired the Alexandru Dimitrie Ghica Palace through a front company on 17 September 2010. A tunnel extension completed on 21 May 2013 connected the palace with the main factory. The same underground network reached the [[FI-BA Balotești S.A.]] warehouse in [[Balotești]].<ref name="snubable-properties"/>

After Rambam was executed on 1 May 2025, Gustav Shrankenhaus assumed command of the remaining Snubable personnel at Căciulați. Fighting with the [[Fish Collective]] concentrated around the factory and its underground sewer network. [[Albert Shrankenhaus]], who had become head of security at the facility, was killed in the sewers on 3 May.<ref name="snubable-collapse"/>

[[Dr. Arnold Isaak Burgelstein]] remained with the defenders during the five-day holdout. [[Sorin Spitt]] worked as a trauma surgeon inside the complex and was captured while operating on a wounded Snubable member.<ref name="spitt-holdout"/> The remaining personnel surrendered on 6 May. Gustav Shrankenhaus died at Căciulați after overdosing on expired [[adrenochrome]] during the final stage of the holdout. Snubable Enterprise dissolved following the surrender.<ref name="snubable-collapse"/>

As head of internal purges in [[Porno Bucharest]], he controlled the Wolf Pit execution facility in Sector 5. He also created the Hyena Crew, a disposal unit that operated in [[Ilfov County]].

== Early life ==
No civil record of Lupu's birth or original identity survived, and he spent his early childhood on the streets of Bucharest. Marku found him in the second half of 2002, when the child was caught stealing from a Bucharest Butchers supply cache in [[Ferentari]]. Marku was 23 at the time and believed Lupu to be eight. A piece of cardboard inside the child's shirt bore only the name "Petru", with nothing to identify a family or place of origin. Marku later named him Praetor Lupu and chose 21 April 1994 as his ceremonial birth date, drawing on the association between that date, the founding of Rome and the she-wolf of Romulus and Remus.

Marku kept the child because he recognized the same instinct for survival that he saw in himself. Once [[Oskar Dirlewanger]] had approved the decision, Marku raised Lupu personally, controlling and abusing him throughout his training. Lupu never attended formal school. Marku taught Lupu how the Butchers interrogated and killed captives, treating him as a weapon under his ownership rather than as a son. Marku placed him in Porno Bucharest when the department was founded on 14 March 2008.<ref name="porno-history"/> Lupu carried out his first execution in 2010, at sixteen. The killing made Marku proud of him, and Lupu eventually became the closest thing Marku had to an heir.

== Criminal career ==
On his assigned eighteenth birthday of 21 April 2012, Marku summoned him to his office, handed him a Luger and placed him in command of internal purges and the Wolf Pit. Lupu accepted the pistol with a nod and left without speaking. Seven older executioners resisted the appointment by ignoring orders and delaying executions, prompting Marku to warn Lupu that he had to end the challenge himself. Lupu called all seven into the Wolf Pit, where four accepted his authority and three continued to defy him. After killing the three dissenters in front of the survivors, he asked, "Mai are cineva probleme?" ("Does anyone else have a problem?"). The four survivors never disobeyed him again.

[[Dorin Petrescu]] organized abductions and transport, delivering prisoners and purge suspects to Lupu at the Wolf Pit. Lupu reported directly to Marku, an arrangement that Dorin resented but never challenged. Dorin avoided eye contact with him during prisoner transfers and left as soon as each handover was complete.<ref name="butchers-internal"/> When speaking to outsiders, Marku used ''SS-Sturmscharführer'' as an unofficial designation for Lupu's seniority.

The Wolf Pit was an execution chamber beneath the Sector 5 complex where Lupu interrogated suspected informants and carried out Marku's internal purges. His practice of urinating on bodies after executions earned him the name Pissing Wolf and inspired Marku to create the [[Order of the Pissing Wolf]], a formal Porno Bucharest medal awarded only to Lupu. Soon after taking command, he complained that the existing disposal system left bodies and evidence unsecured, then obtained Marku's permission to form a unit of his own. Lupu selected and trained seven men for the Hyena Crew, which burned bones before placing weighted remains in lime pits in Ilfov County and destroyed hard drives recovered after purges. Between 2018 and 2022, his execution work and disposal contracts paid approximately €680,000 a year, while organ trafficking added an estimated €150,000 to €200,000. Lupu killed more than 100 people.

In 2024, Lupu ran Porno Bucharest while Marku travelled to Tanoa for negotiations over his proposed takeover of the Bucharest Butchers and merger with the [[Tanoa Einsatzgruppen]].<ref name="marku-struggle"/> Lupu killed members suspected of supporting [[Andrei Ionuț]] or questioning Marku's authority. He also prepared for a confrontation with Andrei by selecting the armed personnel who would support Marku, stockpiling their weapons and arranging safe houses. Lupu opposed placing the Bucharest Butchers under Tanoan authority but remained personally loyal to Marku and was prepared to fight for him.

== Death ==
Porno Bucharest ceased operating after a [[Fish Collective]] member killed Marku on 1 May 2025.<ref name="porno-downfall"/> The Fish Collective soon traced Lupu to a safe house in [[Ploiești]], where he killed three members of a five-person capture team with a kitchen knife and a stolen shotgun before escaping through a sewer pipe. He fled north into the [[Carpathian Mountains]] and moved between abandoned cabins as the search continued. Former personnel from [[Snubable Enterprise]] also wanted him dead, while surviving members of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen sought revenge for Marku's failed merger.

On the morning of 14 June, a twelve-person Fish Collective strike team surrounded Lupu in an abandoned hunting lodge near the [[Bucegi Mountains]]. He refused an offer to surrender and opened fire, killing four attackers before they entered the building and two more after they breached it. Although shot in the shoulder, abdomen and leg, Lupu continued fighting until the surviving members overpowered him. He had suffered seven wounds and lost two fingers by then. Before the team shot him in the head, he told its leader, "Marku Ionuț, așteaptă-mă în iad. Vom arde împreună" ("Marku Ionuț, wait for me in hell. We will burn together"). His body was burned in the forest and no grave was made.

'''Sorin Spitt''' (8 November 1968 – 9 May 2025) was a Moldavian-born Romanian surgeon and pathologist who worked for [[Snubable Enterprise]] from 2002 until its dissolution in 2025. He became the first Head of Clone Medicine on 7 April 2007 and directed medical assessment, pathology and experimental medicine involving manufactured clones. Spitt established that Snubable clones were infertile and identified multi-organ instability as a recurring cause of failed clone development. He also led the medical work of [[Project Umbrar]] from 2021 to 2022.

Spitt was born in [[Chișinău]], [[Moldavian SSR]], on 8 November 1968. He moved to [[Romania]] at the age of 19 and studied medicine in Bucharest. He initially trained in surgery before specializing in pathology. Spitt became a Romanian citizen in the early 1990s and worked at a hospital in Bucharest as a surgeon and pathologist.

[[Dr. Arnold Isaak Burgelstein]] recruited Spitt into [[Glöbbery]] in 1998. Burgelstein later introduced him to [[Richard Rambam]]. Spitt continued his hospital work until 2002, when he joined [[Snubable Enterprise]] as a physician assigned to clone medical assessment.

== Snubable Enterprise ==

Spitt examined newly manufactured clones after they were removed from incubation. He treated complications that developed after accelerated maturation and examined clones whose physical development appeared abnormal. He also conducted experimental procedures on living clones and performed post-mortem examinations on failed specimens. In 2005, Spitt established through repeated examinations that Snubable-produced clones were infertile.

The [[Bucharest Butchers]] assumed direct control over Snubable's protection and transport structure on 7 April 2007.<ref name="snubable-control"/> On the same date, Spitt was appointed the first Head of Clone Medicine. He remained in the office until 6 May 2025. After taking the position, he introduced a rule requiring the most medically unstable clones to wear no tie so that staff could identify them immediately. These examinations led Spitt to identify multi-organ instability as a recurring cause of failed development. He found that the most unstable clones could complete visible physical maturation while individual organs developed at different rates. The resulting bodies were unable to maintain stable organ function after leaving incubation. Spitt used these findings when assessing newly manufactured clones.

Tissue development became unstable after maturation, metabolic regulation deteriorated and neurological development failed to remain integrated with the rest of the body. == Glöbbery and criminal activity ==

Spitt remained a committed Glöbberist while working for Snubable. He consumed adrenochrome and participated in Glöbberist rituals. His membership continued throughout his period as Head of Clone Medicine.

From 2010 onward, Spitt repeatedly sexually exploited victims trafficked through [[Porno Bucharest]]. The department trafficked women and children through guarded properties and protected transport routes.<ref name="porno-trafficking"/> Spitt's victims included adult women and underage girls. His use of trafficked victims continued while he held his senior position at Snubable.

== Final holdout and death ==

[[Richard Rambam]] and [[Peter Pecker]] were captured and executed on 1 May 2025. [[Gustav Shrankenhaus]] then became acting leader of Snubable and directed the remaining personnel during the five-day holdout at the main complex in [[Căciulați]].<ref name="snubable-collapse"/> Spitt remained inside the complex throughout the fighting.

During the holdout, Spitt stopped his normal experimental work and worked as a trauma surgeon. He operated on wounded Snubable personnel and treated human casualties before injured clones. He continued working in the medical section as the remaining defenders lost control of the complex.

The remaining Snubable personnel surrendered on 6 May.<ref name="snubable-collapse"/> Fish Collective personnel entered the medical section and captured Spitt while he was performing surgery on a wounded Snubable member. He was transferred into custody and his Snubable medical records were seized with material recovered from the complex.

Proceedings against Spitt took place before the [[Bucharest Tribunal]] on 9 May 2025. The tribunal convicted him of illegal biological experimentation. He received separate convictions for the sexual exploitation of trafficked persons and the sexual abuse of minors. His Glöbberist activities and his position within Snubable were also entered into the tribunal record. He was sentenced to death and executed by firing squad in Bucharest later that day.
