== Early life and education ==
Paolo Nostrini was born on 22 June 1756 in Mendicino, in [[Calabria Citra]], then part of the [[Kingdom of Naples]]. He belonged to the older Calabrian Nostrini line.

Nostrini began parish instruction in Mendicino on 4 October 1764. On 12 November 1769, he entered the Seminario arcivescovile di Cosenza. His education focused on Latin, canon law, parish administration, and church certification. He completed theological instruction on 18 July 1779.

Nostrini was ordained as a priest at Cosenza Cathedral on 24 September 1780. After his ordination, he remained in the Cosenza area and worked with marriage entries, parish attestations, and inheritance papers used by the Nostrini household.

== Clerical work ==
Nostrini began formal clerical work on 8 February 1781 in [[Cosenza]]. His work concerned parish entries, marriage proofs, and ecclesiastical attestations required in family inheritance matters.

On 17 May 1786, he began maintaining a separate file of Nostrini marriage extracts at Casa Nostrini in Cosenza. The work gave him authority inside the family because several branch claims depended on marriages, dowries, and succession rights. After [[Domenico Nostrini]] became capofamiglia on 6 October 1792, Nostrini acted as the priestly witness for family documents that required church confirmation.

The legal reforms in the [[Kingdom of Naples]] after 1806 increased the importance of written property and inheritance papers. On 19 December 1806, Nostrini prepared a certified packet of marriage extracts for the family review at Casa Nostrini. The same material was later used during the 1811 succession dispute.

After Domenico Nostrini died on 18 November 1810, [[Vittorio Nostrini]] issued the ''lettera di convocazione'' on 3 December 1810. The summons ordered the senior branch representatives to appear at Aversa after Domenico's death left the family without an accepted succession settlement.<ref name="convocation" />

Nostrini arrived at the [[Casa di San Michele]] in [[Aversa]] on 21 April 1811. The final vote was held on 28 April 1811. Vittorio Nostrini's party won after [[Raffaele Nostrini]] supported the relocation settlement. The final decisions were signed on 30 April 1811 in the ''Atto della Convocazione''. The act recognized Vittorio Nostrini as capofamiglia, confirmed the authority of the main northern branch, and ordered the transfer of the central family archive from Calabria.<ref name="convocation" />

Nostrini returned to Cosenza after the convocation. On 16 February 1816, he sent Vittorio Nostrini a final transcript of the marriage entries reviewed during the convocation. On 12 June 1824, he ended routine copying because of declining eyesight, but he continued to certify older material when his signature was required.

== Personal life and death ==
On 7 May 1774, Nostrini married his cousin [[Maria Giuseppa Nostrini]] at the parish church of San Nicola in Mendicino. She died on 18 January 1778.

After his wife's death, Nostrini returned to clerical study in Cosenza. He entered minor orders on 21 March 1779 and was ordained as a priest on 24 September 1780.

Nostrini lived in Mendicino until 1803. He later resided in clerical housing near Cosenza Cathedral. He used the title Don Paolo in church and family matters. At the 1811 convocation, he held the title ''garante ecclesiastico''.<ref name="convocation" />

Don Paolo Nostrini died on 15 March 1833 at the Canonica di Santa Maria Assunta in Cosenza. He was 76 years old.
