== Early life and education ==
Giuseppe Nostrini was born on 18 November 1797 in [[Rossano]], in [[Calabria Citra]], then part of the [[Kingdom of Naples]]. He belonged to the Ionian branch of the Nostrini family, which remained in Calabria after the [[Convocazione Settentrionale della Famiglia Nostrini]].

Nostrini began private instruction in Rossano on 7 October 1804. On 13 May 1811, after the family settlement at [[Aversa]], his father placed him under the branch copyist Antonio Greco for training in lease copying, rent balances, and household correspondence. He completed this training on 30 August 1815.
