Editing House of Ionuț (section)

== Foundation ==
Dragos had founded the early [[Bucharest Butchers|Butchers]] network in 1496. During the late 1490s, he declared himself founder of the House of Ionuț and adopted the title Sir Dragos I. A person entered the House register after pledging loyalty to Dragos and accepting its rules. Wallachian ancestry or recognition by a noble authority was not required.<ref name="dragos-house"/><ref name="butchers-origins"/>

The House register named its members and recorded claims to its leadership. Separate Butchers crews protected affiliated households and intimidated noble interests that acted against them. Dragos headed both the House and the Butchers until his death.

Dragos married Maria. Their children were Grozav, Mihai, Stefan, Elena, and Irina Ionuț. Grozav was the eldest.<ref name="dragos-family"/>
