== Geography and hydrology == Lake Snagov formed in the lower Snagov valley within the Ialomița drainage basin. Its elongated course runs mainly from northeast to southwest. Side arms extend from the main channel and form sheltered bays. The deepest water follows the former river channel. The lake receives water from the Snagov River and groundwater springs. Water leaves the lake through a discharge channel leading towards the Ialomița River. Reed beds occupy parts of the shallow shoreline, while aquatic vegetation grows in sheltered water. Remnants of the former [[Vlăsiei Forests]] remain beside parts of the lake.
