== History == The faction's origins followed the division of [[Schroeter Traktoren]] during the first [[Middenvader Commissie]] in 1949. The dispute led to the establishment of [[Schroeter-Traktoren West]] in Rotterdam-West. The western branch placed workshops and repair facilities in the district. Its properties also supported storage and transport work.<ref name="schroeter-split"/> A second commission collapsed without resolving the dispute in 1959. Several days later, [[Ferdinand Schroeter]] was killed at his farmhouse. Reports linked his death to people associated with the Rotterdam-West network. Schroeter Traktoren was dissolved later that year to prevent further conflict between the family branches.<ref name="schroeter-dissolution"/> Former workers and suppliers remained active around the western sites. Landlords and property intermediaries continued to manage buildings that had previously served the company's operations. During the 1960s, these local arrangements became more coordinated. The network settled disputes concerning industrial lots. It also regulated who could use the sites and protected the commercial interests attached to them. By the 1970s, Rotterdam-West had developed into a recognisable district faction whose authority was based on property and business access. The faction later consolidated under De Snee. He retained its property-based structure while reducing its dependence on named members of the Schroeter family. Rotterdam-West consequently became more closed and territorial, although its industrial origins continued to influence its organisation. The faction formed independently of [[Lourens Schroeter]], who held no leadership position within it. His connection came through the wider Schroeter family and his association with [[Overschie]]. He later expressed a personal dislike of Rotterdam-West.<ref name="lourens-characteristics"/>
