== Background ==
The Nostrini family was established in Calabria on 14 September 1761 by [[Lorenzo Nostrini]]. By the early nineteenth century, the family had branches in Calabria and in the area around Aversa and [[Naples]]. After [[Domenico Nostrini]] died on 18 November 1810, Vittorio Nostrini summoned the senior branch representatives to Aversa. The convocation opened at the Casa di San Michele on 23 April 1811 and ended with the signing of the Atto della Convocazione on 30 April 1811.<ref name="convocazione-proceedings">''[[Convocazione Settentrionale della Famiglia Nostrini]]'': "On 3 December 1810, Vittorio Nostrini issued the lettera di convocazione"; "The delegates arrived at Aversa on 21 April 1811. The final settlement recognized Vittorio Nostrini as capofamiglia while preserving authority for [[Saverio Nostrini]] over selected Calabrian properties.
