== Collapse and aftermath == Operations at Mont Tanoa ended during the collapse of the [[Tanoa Einsatzgruppen]] on 30 November 2024. The [[Mont Tanoa concentration camp]] was liberated by the [[Fish Collective]], detention activities ended, and mining operations were halted. Control of the volcanic complex passed to transitional authorities after the disintegration of the regime’s central command structure. After the collapse, Mont Tanoa remained restricted due to unstable tunnel sections, abandoned equipment, hazardous shafts, damaged infrastructure, and the possible presence of unexploded ordnance. Survey teams focused on mapping underground voids, identifying former detention areas, documenting mining infrastructure, and assessing environmental damage caused by decades of extraction activity. Parts of the surface complex and tunnel system were dismantled, sealed, or preserved for documentation. The mountain is now treated as both a hazardous former military-industrial site and a historical location connected to the forced-labor system of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen.
