== Death ==

During the journey, the family's boat was caught in a strong current and capsized. The other members of the household managed to reach the riverbank, but Anastasia was swept away.

[[Nikolaos Nikolopoulos|Nikolaos]] and [[Martinos Nikolopoulos|Martinos]] searched for her for several hours while the others continued ahead. They found no trace of her and eventually rejoined the family. Anastasia was presumed dead at the age of nine, and her body was never recovered.<ref name="origins"/>

The surviving members of the household continued their escape and eventually reached the [[Dutch Republic]].<ref name="migration"/>
