== Career == Nostrini entered the Ionian branch office on 4 January 1816. His early work concerned tenancy accounts, olive-grove rents, and copied property papers retained by the Rossano branch after the 1811 settlement. The Nostrini family settlement of 1811 preserved the Calabrian and Ionian branches while allowing the main archive and senior authority to move north. After the convocation, Raffaele Nostrini returned to Rossano and kept the Ionian branch under the Nostrini surname.<ref name="raffaele-career2">''[[Raffaele Nostrini]]'', career section: "After the convocation, Nostrini returned to Rossano and kept the Ionian branch under the Nostrini surname."</ref> Between 1812 and 1819, the moving branches began using the surname Norte in northern records, while the older Nostrini name remained tied to the family's Calabrian origin.<ref name="convocazione-aftermath">''[[Convocazione Settentrionale della Famiglia Nostrini]]'', aftermath section: "Between 1812 and 1819, the moving branches began using the surname Norte in northern records. The older Nostrini name remained tied to the Calabrian origin of the family."</ref> On 19 September 1849, Raffaele Nostrini transferred the Ionian branch lease papers to Giuseppe. Giuseppe then became ''capo del ramo ionico'' and managed the Rossano papers, local estate income, and branch correspondence. In 1853, Nostrini began spending longer periods in [[Naples]]. On 11 February 1854, he opened the first of several private adult clubs near the port district. By 1862, he controlled four clubs in Naples through leased rooms and front managers. The clubs were known for obscene stage performances, heavy drinking, paid sexual services, and unsanitary private rooms. Nostrini used income from the clubs to support the Ionian branch office while keeping the businesses separate from the family lease papers. After the [[Kingdom of Italy]] was established, Nostrini continued operating in Naples. He kept the Rossano branch papers under the Nostrini name and used local managers for the adult clubs. By the 1880s, his Naples income had become larger than the branch income from Rossano leases.
