== Arrest and imprisonment ==
During her adulthood, Ioana knowingly kept Mircea's weapons and murder payments in their home. She knew that he killed people for the Bucharest Butchers and concealed information about those killings. In 2008, she learned that Mircea had supplied [[Marku Ionuț]] with money used to establish [[Porno Bucharest]].<ref name="porno-history"/>

Between 2 and 4 May 2025, Mircea sent Ioana messages instructing her to hide weapons and cash before authorities reached their home. Ioana replied that she had completed the instructions, after which they deleted the exchange. When Mircea was arrested on 13 May, investigators questioned Ioana as a witness. She denied knowing that the weapons or money were kept in the home and was released while her statement was examined.

Examiners recovered the deleted messages on 15 May. Ioana was arrested the next day. She was required to testify on 21 October about the weapons and money she had concealed. Her evidence was entered into Mircea's tribunal proceeding before it assigned him death on 24 October.<ref name="mircea-arrest"/>

Ioana's own tribunal proceeding recorded that she had hidden evidence and retained money from Mircea's killings. It also found that she had obstructed investigations for decades. Her testimony did not reduce the outcome. On 4 November 2025, the Bucharest Tribunal assigned her life imprisonment.
