The Abteilung der Schlitzauge participated in the militarization of minors and the preparation of youth for combat operations. Members were trained under a doctrine that emphasized jungle warfare tactics, survival operations, and irregular combat methods. Trainees were commonly referred to internally as "jungle rats," reflecting their intended operational role in dense forest environments.

Advanced participants were transferred into the [[Tanoanische-Urwaldkorps]], where they served in counter-insurgency operations, forced population control actions, and security sweeps within rural and jungle regions of Tanoa. These operations involved detention practices, coercive labor enforcement, and participation in violent suppression campaigns carried out under the authority of the Allgemeine SS command structure.
