== Leadership transition ==
In 2012, [[Andrei Ionuț]] assumed leadership of the Bucharest Butchers following the retirement of Oskar Dirlewanger, who remained active in an advisory role. Under Andrei Ionut, the organization continued to operate as a centralized criminal hierarchy with defined internal roles and enforcement mechanisms.

In 2013, Andrei Ionut ordered the formal consolidation of overseas operations. [[Petru Ionuț]] and [[Iakob Ionuț]] were dispatched to [[Hollywood]], Los Angeles, to officially assume control over the sub-organization originally established by Emil Mătăsăreanu.

Prior to their departure, Andrei Ionuț issued a direct order to Iakob Ionuț to eliminate Larry Phillips Jr., citing his non-member status and the determination that he would never be accepted as a Butcher.

On the night before Petru and Iakob departed Romania, Emil Mătăsăreanu secretly returned to Bucharest, removing himself from the situation. The following morning, Iakob Ionuț carried out the execution of Larry Phillips Jr. in Hollywood. According to internal accounts, Iakob forcibly entered Phillips’ residence, overpowered him using a wire, and strangled him to death.

The killing secured Iakob Ionut’s promotion within the organization. Although the Hollywood leadership had initially been intended solely for Petru Ionuț due to Iakob’s limited experience in command roles, the execution demonstrated loyalty and capability. As a result, Iakob Ionuț was elevated to second-in-command of the overseas operations.
