During the 1990s, the [[Tanoa Einsatzgruppen]] intensified geological surveys in the central highlands. Survey programs identified significant gold deposits within the volcanic structure of Mont Tanoa. Later mining records also connected the mountain to emerald extraction.

Mining operations expanded from surface prospecting to underground excavation. Shafts, ore transport corridors, reinforced chambers, and ventilation systems were built into the volcanic interior. Extracted gold was transferred into regime-controlled financial channels and became part of the reserve system administered by the [[Reichsschatzamt von Tanoa]].
