Editing Porno Bucharest (section)

=== Recording and blackmail ===
Illegal recordings remained central to Porno Bucharest after its expansion into trafficking. Material produced at its properties was sold to criminal clients and distributed through restricted networks. Copies were retained when Marku believed a participant could later be blackmailed, and the department accumulated large archives of recordings on hard drives kept at separate properties.

The archive was also used against intermediaries and associates who threatened to expose the department. Marku ordered duplicate collections to be stored away from the main recording sites so that a police seizure or attack would not destroy the entire archive. Recordings were also used in foreign transactions, including payments made through the department's Chinese network.<ref name="marku-china"/>
