== Responsibilities ==

The Postschutz carried out the following duties:

* Protection of postal offices and distribution centers  
* Supervision of mail transport by rail, road, and air  
* Inspection of parcels and correspondence for prohibited materials  
* Prevention of sabotage against communication infrastructure  
* Escort of sensitive government documents and classified shipments  
* Delivery of standard mail and parcels to civilian populations under state postal administration

In addition to infrastructure protection, the Postschutz monitored communication channels for unauthorized exchanges that could undermine administrative or security objectives.
