Editing Regional Großabschnitte (section)

== Functions and administration ==
Each Großabschnitt served as a regional channel for orders and reports. Command staffs coordinated personnel assignments and prepared regional enforcement plans. Where the regime exercised direct control, the staffs supervised command offices and security detachments. Where it relied on puppet administrations, the Großabschnitt transmitted central directives through collaborator officials and monitored their implementation.

Regional staffs coordinated police and intelligence reporting. Security units used these assessments to suppress resistance and protect infrastructure controlled by the regime. Reports sent to Georgetown assessed political loyalty and public order. Other reports recorded population movements and transport conditions or evaluated the performance of subordinate administrations.

The commands also connected local authorities with the central government. Regional political administrators reported through channels supervised by the Amt für Regionale Politische Verwaltung. This allowed the [[NSTAP]] and government offices in Georgetown to review regional administration while command authority remained with the Oberkommando.<ref name="political-oversight"/>
