She founded the weekly newspaper Il Corrispondente Calabrese in 1819. Her best-known articles recorded the constitutional movement of 1820 as news of it reached Calabria Citra. == Early life == Marchese was born in Cosenza on 17 November 1786. Her father, notary Francesco Marchese, taught her the formal Italian used in legal notices. She later copied correspondence in his office, where she learned how provincial decrees were distributed. Marchese married estate manager Saverio Nostrini at Cosenza Cathedral on 19 April 1807. They had three children. == Journalism == Marchese established Il Corrispondente Calabrese on 6 May 1819. The weekly printed official notices in direct Italian so that readers did not need to consult the original administrative circulars. A separate column followed changes in local bread prices. Marchese initially signed her political reporting with the initials G.M. In July 1820, she began the series Lettere dalla Calabria Citeriore. Each article traced how constitutional proclamations reached Cosenza and how the provincial authorities carried them out. The series continued until the restoration of royal authority. Officials suppressed the newspaper in April 1821, after which Marchese circulated occasional reports as privately copied sheets. During the 1837 cholera outbreak, Marchese produced the Bollettino sanitario cosentino. It compared burial notices with reports submitted by parish clergy. The bulletin challenged claims that deliberate poisoning caused the disease and directed readers toward the public notices issued by physicians. Marchese returned to political reporting in 1844. Her final major work, Cronaca del Vallone di Rovito, reconstructed the capture and execution of the Bandiera expedition from accounts gathered in Cosenza. She completed the pamphlet in September 1844. == Death and legacy == Marchese died in Cosenza on 12 December 1844. In 1848, her eldest son, Pietro Nostrini, placed a bound set of her newspaper and pamphlets with the Calabrian branch papers. This preserved the only complete run of Il Corrispondente Calabrese. == References == {{Reflist|refs= <ref name="saverio-personal-life">"Personal life".
