John Hugerinus Paap (12 September 1959 – 12 August 2024) was an American resistance organizer and co-founder of the Fish Collective. He played a coordinating and operational role in actions directed against the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen and associated structures. == Early life == John Hugerinus Paap was born in Texas, United States, as the son of Matt Hugerinus Paap. He was the cousin of Mark Hugerinus Paap and Hugo Hugerinus Paap. His family background included maritime professions, which later influenced the symbolism of the Fish Collective. == Formation of the Fish Collective == In 2019, John Hugerinus Paap was approached by his cousin Mark Hugerinus Paap with a proposal to establish a decentralized resistance network. The organization operated without formal hierarchy, centralized command, or territorial control. Between 2019 and 2020, the network functioned without a public name and focused on intelligence gathering, surveillance, and the establishment of trusted contacts. In 2021, the group formally adopted the name Fish Collective. The term “Fish” referenced the founders’ familial maritime background, while “Collective” reflected the absence of formal leadership structures. Although Mark Hugerinus Paap became the primary symbolic figure of the organization, John played a significant role in coordination, planning, and external support. == Operations and conflict == From 2021 onward, the Fish Collective escalated its activities, combining exposure of elite figures with direct action. John Hugerinus Paap participated in operations targeting members of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen and their associated networks. In August 2024, John killed Daniel Paap and several senior generals linked to the Tanoan structure. Approximately one week later, on 12 August 2024, he was killed in Patagonia during a duel with a Tanoan officer. == Death == John Hugerinus Paap died on 12 August 2024 in Patagonia. His death occurred during an active phase of the campaign against the Tanoa regime and preceded the final operation of Mark Hugerinus Paap in November 2024. == Legacy == Following John’s death and the later death of Mark Hugerinus Paap, the Fish Collective fragmented into semi-independent cells. Despite the absence of centralized leadership, John Hugerinus Paap remains recognized as one of the two founding figures of the organization. == See also == * Mark Hugerinus Paap * Fish Collective * Tanoa Einsatzgruppen * Daniel Paap * Bucharest Butchers
