'''Maikel van Hetten''' (born 16 March 1953) is a Surinamese-Dutch member of the [[Van Hetten family]]. In 1994, he helped [[Charlie Noord]] acquire [[Hotel Zoutbaai]] in [[Curaçao]] through his personal contacts on the island.

== Life ==
Van Hetten was born on 16 March 1953 in [[Paramaribo]], [[Suriname]]. He is the son of [[Imro van Hetten (father)|Imro van Hetten]], a former [[Luftwaffe]] fighter pilot, and the older brother of [[Imro van Hetten]], who later became a member of [[De Vrienden]].

In 1994, [[Walter Noord]] introduced his cousin [[Charlie Noord]] to Van Hetten, who had contacts in Curaçao. Maikel was planning to visit the island in August when Walter wrote to him asking whether Charlie would be coming as well.<ref name="walter-career"/> Charlie travelled to Curaçao but arrived one day after Maikel. Van Hetten used his contacts on the island to help Charlie acquire Hotel Zoutbaai, which became the first property operated by Charlie's hotel company, Dubbelrif Hotelmaatschappij N.V.<ref name="charlie-career"/>
