== History ==
The area of the province has been settled since antiquity. Cosenza developed from ancient Cosentia, the capital of the Bruttii, and was taken by Rome in 204 BC.

The northern part of Calabria was historically organized as [[Calabria Citra]] under the [[Kingdom of Naples]] and later the [[Kingdom of the Two Sicilies]]. Cosenza served as the capital of that province. == Nostrini family ==
