== Parameter notes ==
* Use a bare file name or a normal MediaWiki file value for <code>image</code>; do not manually build an HTML image.
* Provide meaningful <code>alt</code> text. The caption should add context rather than repeat it.
* <code>firstlabel</code> can replace “First played” with wording such as “First contested”.
* <code>type</code> also accepts the alias <code>category</code>; <code>region</code> also accepts <code>country/region</code>.
* Any non-empty <code>obsolete</code> value displays “Yes”; omit it when the sport is not obsolete.
