Born into the Ionuț family, he began assisting his father's contract killings as a child and later became an enforcer. He joined Glöbbery in 2009 and spent two years guarding its headquarters in Switzerland. After returning to Bucharest, he took control of trafficking crews operating across Eastern Europe. Ionuț was arrested after the collapse of the Bucharest Butchers in 2025. The Bucharest Tribunal initially assigned him life imprisonment, but records recovered later in the year tied him to further killings and sexual offences. The files also showed that he had attempted to destroy evidence before his capture. He was executed by firing squad on 19 December 2025. == Early life == Vladut Ionuț was born in Bucharest on 1 January 1984. His father, Mircea Ionuț, worked as a hitman for the Bucharest Butchers. Mircea and Dumitru Ionuț were brothers, which made Vladut a first cousin of Petru Ionuț and Iakob Ionuț. He also grew up alongside Marku Ionuț, a cousin from another branch of the family. Vladut attended a local school, but his upbringing was already shaped by his father's work. At twelve, he began watching targets selected for contract killings and reporting their movements to Mircea. He also carried sealed instructions from Bucharest Butchers commanders. By fourteen, he was delivering concealed weapons to pickup points selected for Mircea's assignments. On 14 October 1999, Mircea took his fifteen-year-old son to meet Bănel Sârbu. Mircea negotiated an agreement under which Sârbu would modify vehicles for the Bucharest Butchers. Vladut handed Bănel approximately 30.7 billion old Romanian lei provided by the organization. After the payment, Sârbu began receiving Bucharest Butchers vehicles and was given additional money to purchase cars. == Enforcement work == Vladut moved into direct enforcement during 2000. On 8 September, he was sent to recover a Bucharest Butchers vehicle that a mechanic had concealed over an unpaid debt. He confronted the mechanic alone and killed him with a workshop hammer when he refused to reveal the vehicle's location. This was the first killing later attributed specifically to Vladut. The organization continued to send him after debtors and members suspected of theft. He often worked alone, entering homes or workshops without a supporting crew. Investigators later attributed other hammer killings to him. Surviving records also described assaults in which he bit his victims and mutilated their bodies after death. By his early twenties, Vladut was drinking heavily before collection work and enforcement assignments. He remained capable of following a target and recovering organization property, but became more violent when he believed someone was hiding money or information. Captives and lower-ranking members were frequent targets of these assaults. == Glöbbery == Vladut entered Glöbbery on 17 October 2009, the anniversary of the order's founding. His admission was arranged through the connection that Oskar Dirlewanger had established between Glöbbery and the Bucharest Butchers. Vladut swore the Glöbberian oath to The Gentleman and entered the order's external membership register. He remained in Switzerland from 17 October 2009 until 17 October 2011, serving as a bodyguard at Festung Glöbbelhart in Glöbbelharttal. The fortress was Glöbbery's original headquarters and the seat of its Swiss branch. Vladut guarded restricted entrances and accompanied senior members outside the grounds. Access to the building remained under the authority of the Glöbbelhart family, whose staff directed his assignments. The posting brought Vladut into direct contact with the order's membership system and its practice of treating violence as sacrifice. His position at the fortress depended on his experience as a Bucharest Butchers enforcer rather than on a religious office. He returned to Bucharest on 24 October 2011 but remained a Glöbberist. == Trafficking operations == In November 2011, Vladut was placed at a Bucharest property used to hold trafficking victims before transport. He guarded the building and assaulted captives who resisted being moved. As he gained authority, he took control of crews that carried victims from Romania to other holding sites in Eastern Europe. He also enforced discipline inside the properties used along the route. Andrei Ionuț appointed Vladut Legion Commander of Bucharest on 1 July 2019. In that position, he answered to the central leadership while commanding trafficking crews based in the capital. He authorized violence against captives who attempted to escape and personally dealt with intermediaries who withheld the organization's money. After Ancuța Ionuț turned 18, Vladut learned that she was killing adult clients and selling their organs. Before arranging her introduction to Glöbbery, he required her to dismember a living person. An unidentified 42-year-old woman was abducted from the street. Ancuța dismembered the woman while she was alive and killed her. Vladut introduced Ancuța to Glöbbery after the killing. Her first assignment was torturing captives for him. Files recovered after his arrest showed that Vladut sexually assaulted incapacitated patients at clandestine medical sites. Separate records attributed sexual abuse involving the remains of murdered children to him. Investigators also connected him to torture through biting and to the mutilation of people killed during enforcement work. == Arrest and execution == As the Bucharest Butchers began to collapse, Vladut tried to destroy records identifying trafficking victims and the routes used to move them. On 30 April 2025, he burned paper ledgers at a holding property in Bucharest and ordered his subordinates to smash its storage drives. Copies of the records had been kept elsewhere and survived. Romanian authorities arrested him in Bucharest on 6 May 2025. The Bucharest Tribunal had opened on 1 May 2025 and received the surviving records from properties under Vladut's command. On 22 August 2025, it assigned him life imprisonment for his role in the Bucharest Butchers and its trafficking system. The decision also covered the killings and sexual violence documented in the initial evidence. Additional files entered the tribunal record on 3 December 2025. They identified Vladut as the direct perpetrator of killings that had previously been attributed only to his trafficking crews. The same files established that he had ordered the destruction of evidence before his arrest and documented offences missing from the initial decision. The tribunal reconsidered his classification and assigned death on 12 December 2025. Vladut was executed by firing squad in Bucharest one week later, aged 41. == See also == * Mircea Ionuț * Ionuț family * Bucharest Butchers * Glöbbery * Festung Glöbbelhart * Bucharest Tribunal == References == {{Reflist|refs= <ref name="sarbu-history">"History".
