He was born on 24 November 1778 as the son of [[Georgios Nikolopoulos]] and [[Cornelia Verzee]].<br /> <br /> Georgios chose the additional name Hugerinus because it appeared in the [[Book of Paap]]. The book stated that the future Paap of light would bear the name and required each Hugerinus bearer to have a four-letter first name.
