== Early life and education ==
Domenico Nostrini was born on 16 February 1744 at Casa Nostrini in [[Cosenza]]. At the time, Cosenza was part of [[Calabria Citra]] in the [[Kingdom of Naples]].

Nostrini began private parish instruction in Cosenza on 3 October 1752. His first education was based on Latin reading and written accounts. This was the normal preparation for a boy from a provincial household that expected him to handle family records.

On 2 October 1757, Nostrini entered the Seminario arcivescovile di Cosenza as an external lay pupil. He received grammar instruction and learned the written forms used in church records and estate papers. He left the seminary on 11 July 1762. On 4 September 1762, he began a notarial apprenticeship under Francesco Marchese in Cosenza.

== Career ==
Nostrini entered the family records as an assistant clerk on 9 March 1763. His early work was clerical. He copied agreements, prepared letters, and helped maintain the estate account books.

On 19 June 1766, Nostrini was appointed scrivano domestico. The appointment gave him control over copied household documents and formal correspondence. On 2 September 1774, he received authority over the Cosenza estate accounts.

Nostrini became amministratore maggiore on 17 October 1784. In that position, he reviewed the reports sent by branch representatives outside Cosenza. His authority grew because he kept the central records in order and controlled access to the family archive.

On 6 October 1792, Nostrini was accepted as capofamiglia. He kept the family seat at Casa Nostrini and governed through written approvals. Property decisions required his seal or a confirmed copy from the Cosenza archive.

== Death and succession ==
Nostrini died on 18 November 1810 at Casa Nostrini in Cosenza. He had not left a settlement that all senior branches accepted.

On 3 December 1810, [[Vittorio Nostrini]] issued the lettera di convocazione ordering the senior branch representatives to meet at [[Aversa]]. The dispute was settled at the [[Convocazione Settentrionale della Famiglia Nostrini]], held from 23 to 30 April 1811 at the [[Casa di San Michele]].

The final act recognized Vittorio Nostrini as capofamiglia. It also approved the transfer of the central family archive away from Calabria. After the convocation, the family’s northern branch became dominant and later adopted the surnames Norte and Noord.
