'''Salvatore Nostrini''' (2 February 1873 – 17 October 1963) was an Italian businessman and crime boss who headed the [[Nostrini crime family]] from 7 February 1931 until his murder. He had previously controlled the organization's accounts and the private records of cooperating proprietors. During his leadership, the organization established criminal influence throughout Italy and entered [[Glöbbery]]. He was succeeded by his cousin [[Antonio Nostrini]], who organized his killing.

== Early life ==
Salvatore was born in [[Naples]] to [[Raffaele Nostrini (crime boss)|Raffaele Nostrini]] and Teresa Romano. He received instruction in arithmetic before learning bookkeeping and commercial correspondence. This education prepared him for the recordkeeping system that his father developed inside the organization.

== Career ==
Salvatore entered the Nostrini crime family on 3 May 1891. He initially copied collection totals and checked receipts issued by businesses that collected money for the organization. On 14 January 1901, he became head of accounts. This position gave him access to the internal ledgers. He also maintained the private documents that identified proprietors holding property on the organization's behalf.

When Raffaele succeeded [[Carmine Nostrini]] on 4 September 1908, he appointed Salvatore to act as his deputy. Salvatore retained the rank of ''camorrista'' while exercising that authority. He supervised the records office and reviewed commercial agreements before they were presented to his father. His records distinguished businesses held for the organization from independent proprietors who paid for protection or political access.

Salvatore joined the National Fascist Party in 1921. He attended party meetings in Naples and financed a local office. After the First World War, he obtained vehicles from cooperating cartage operators for Fascist organizers. He also represented employers within the Nostrini network during disputes involving port labour.

On 24 October 1922, Salvatore accompanied Raffaele to a meeting with Benito Mussolini at the Grand Hotel Vesuvio. Aurelio Padovani arranged the introduction. The council recognized him as ''capintesta'' because those records gave him effective control of the businesses. He formally assumed leadership on 7 February.

Salvatore extended the organization through wartime supply theft and postwar construction contracts. During the 1940s, he admitted the Porzio crime family to the Nostrini network as an affiliated organization. Its leaders retained authority over their own members and accepted Salvatore's judgment in disputes involving national routes.

After [[Oskar Dirlewanger]] reorganized the [[Bucharest Butchers]] in 1945, Salvatore authorized cooperation with its Romanian network. Nostrini brokers provided Italian port access and freight companies. Butchers intermediaries supplied forged papers and protected storage in Bucharest. During the 1950s, their joint routes moved fugitives, stolen goods and weapons through Bari, Brindisi and the Balkans.

Records captured in Rome allowed Salvatore to expand political corruption into the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Public Works and the Ministry of Merchant Navy. == Murder and succession ==
During 1962 and 1963, Salvatore increasingly delegated enforcement decisions to his cousin [[Antonio Nostrini]]. Antonio was a son of Luigi Nostrini, who had directed the organization's guards under Raffaele. Antonio controlled senior enforcers in Naples and secured support from territorial leaders in Palermo, Rome and Milan.

Antonio accused Salvatore of allowing Swiss financiers, Bucharest intermediaries and protected politicians to exercise excessive influence over the organization. He presented his own faction as the defender of direct Nostrini authority. The dispute also concerned access to the central ownership ledgers and the register identifying government officials who received payments.

On 17 October 1963, Salvatore attended a closed Glöbberian observance in Naples marking the seventy-fifth anniversary of the founding of Glöbbery. Antonio murdered him during the meeting. Antonio's supporters simultaneously occupied the records office and communications rooms. They seized the central ledgers and Salvatore's government-contact register before opposing territorial leaders could respond.

Antonio told the ''consiglio maggiore'' that Salvatore's death was a Glöbberian judgment and claimed that his victory demonstrated the favour of [[The Gentleman]].
