New page

UTC+2, also written as UTC+02:00, is a time offset that is two hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time. When it is 12:00 UTC, the local time in a UTC+2 area is 14:00.

Use
UTC+2 is used as a standard time in several parts of Europe, Africa, and the eastern Mediterranean region. It is also used as a daylight saving time offset in areas that normally use UTC+1 during standard time.

In Europe, UTC+2 is closely associated with Central European Summer Time and Eastern European Time. During summer time, countries that normally follow Central European Time move to UTC+2. Some countries farther east use UTC+2 as their standard time.

Time calculation
UTC+2 is calculated by adding two hours to Coordinated Universal Time. The offset does not describe a place by itself. It only describes the difference between local time and UTC.

For example, 08:00 UTC is 10:00 in a UTC+2 area. 23:00 UTC is 01:00 on the next day in a UTC+2 area.

Daylight saving time
Some regions use UTC+2 only during daylight saving time. In those places, the offset is seasonal and changes when clocks move forward or backward.

Other regions use UTC+2 throughout the year. In those places, the offset remains the same unless the legal time zone is changed.
