'''Benedetto Nostrini''' (27 October 1784 – 20 February 1858) was an Italian archivist and secretary for the Nostrini family. He served as ''segretario della convocazione'' during the [[Convocazione Settentrionale della Famiglia Nostrini]], held from 23 to 30 April 1811 at the [[Casa di San Michele]] in [[Aversa]].<ref name="convocation"/> Nostrini later wrote the ''[[Memoria familiare della Convocazione Settentrionale della Famiglia Nostrini]]'', the main family account of the succession dispute between the northern and Calabrian branches.<ref name="memoria"/>

Benedetto Nostrini was born on 27 October 1784 in Aversa, then part of the [[Kingdom of Naples]]. He belonged to the northern branch of the Nostrini family, which used the Casa di San Michele as its administrative residence. He began private instruction on 15 September 1792 and entered the Seminario vescovile di Aversa as an external lay pupil on 3 October 1796. His education focused on Latin reading and formal handwriting. He left the seminary on 21 June 1800.

On 3 November 1800, Nostrini began notarial instruction under [[Carlo Bellandi]] in Aversa. Bellandi taught him to copy legal acts and prepare formal records for private households.<ref name="bellandi"/> This training prepared Nostrini for his later work in the Nostrini family archive.

Nostrini entered service at the Casa di San Michele on 16 March 1801 as a copy clerk for the northern branch. He prepared copies of family documents and correspondence for [[Vittorio Nostrini]].<ref name="casa"/> Following the land reforms in the Kingdom of Naples in 1806, the Nostrini household began reviewing its inheritance papers and the competing claims made by its branches. Nostrini was assigned to the Aversa household office under Vittorio on 8 February 1807. He copied correspondence exchanged with the Calabrian branch and arranged documents later presented during the family convocation.

On 23 April 1811, the opening day of the Convocazione Settentrionale della Famiglia Nostrini, Nostrini was appointed ''segretario della convocazione''. He recorded the proceedings and maintained the speaking order used by the family council. His notes documented the dispute between Vittorio Nostrini and [[Saverio Nostrini]] over the position of ''capofamiglia'' and control of the central family archive.<ref name="convocation"/>

The [[Atto della Convocazione]] was signed on 30 April 1811. Nostrini then began writing the ''Memoria familiare della Convocazione Settentrionale della Famiglia Nostrini''. The memorial explained the origin of the dispute and recorded the council's proceedings. It also preserved the final resolutions and the objections made by Saverio and the southern party. Nostrini completed its first version on 18 June 1811.<ref name="memoria"/> On 7 September, he catalogued the first archive chests transferred to Aversa under the settlement.<ref name="casa"/>

Nostrini was appointed ''archivista maggiore'' of the northern household on 6 January 1820. He supervised new copies of the ''[[Statuto domestico Nostrini]]'' and maintained the household correspondence used by Vittorio. He was also responsible for the family's succession papers.<ref name="statuto"/> Nostrini retired from daily archive work on 1 April 1854.

== Personal life and death ==

Nostrini lived mainly at the Casa di San Michele. On 16 February 1815, he married [[Teresa Bellandi]], the daughter of Carlo Bellandi and Maddalena Sorbo, at the Chiesa di San Michele Arcangelo in Aversa.<ref name="teresa"/> He died at the Casa di San Michele on 20 February 1858, aged 73.<ref name="casa"/>
