Overschie is a district in the northwestern part of Rotterdam, South Holland, Netherlands. It developed as a village along the Schie and remained an independent municipality until it was incorporated into Rotterdam on 1 August 1941. The historic village centre around the Overschiese Dorpsstraat remains visible within the later urban development of the district.

Schroeter family
[edit | edit source]Lourens Schroeter was born in Overschie on 14 January 1940.[1] He later became the fifth member of De Vrienden.[2]
Martinus Schroeter was born in Overschie on 17 November 1900 and remained in the district.[3] He entered the Schroeter family stone business in 1921. In 1934, he expanded the family marble workshop to establish his own working space in Overschie.[4]
