It served as the seat of the family's northern branch during the succession dispute that followed the death of Domenico Nostrini in 1810. The northern branch was using Casa di San Michele for family administration by 1801. Benedetto Nostrini entered service there as a copy clerk on 16 March 1801. Vittorio Nostrini entered the northern branch register at the house on 12 February 1802 as an assistant administrator.[3][4]

Legal reforms in the Kingdom of Naples in 1806 led the Nostrini household to review its land papers and inheritance claims. Casa di San Michele became the northern branch's working base for the review. Vittorio was appointed procuratore del ramo settentrionale on 19 May 1808 and used the house while pressing for senior family authority to move to Aversa.[5][4]

Domenico Nostrini died at Casa Nostrini in Cosenza on 18 November 1810 without leaving a succession settlement accepted by the senior branches. Vittorio issued the lettera di convocazione on 3 December and ordered the branch representatives to meet in Aversa. The delegates reached the city on 21 April 1811. Two days later, the convocation opened at Casa di San Michele.[5][1]

The family council met at the house from 23 to 27 April. A final vote was held on 28 April after Raffaele Nostrini supported Vittorio's relocation settlement.
