Parameter notes

Use a bare file name or a normal MediaWiki file value for image; do not manually build an HTML image.
Provide meaningful alt text. The caption should add context rather than repeat it.
firstlabel can replace “First played” with wording such as “First contested”.
type also accepts the alias category; region also accepts country/region.
Any non-empty obsolete value displays “Yes”; omit it when the sport is not obsolete.
