Early life
editSchroeter was born in Rotterdam on 5 December 1940. During the 1950s, the dispute within his family led to repeated clashes and damage to agricultural property.[2] Martin took part in the 1959 conflict without joining the second Middenvader Commissie. He vandalized property belonging to Schroeters-West supporters. One target belonged to Martin de Bordeelbaas, who was aligned with Rotterdam-West. The attack began their personal feud.
Criminal case
editIn 1960, Schroeter desecrated graves to obtain human bones for a private collection. Within the Schroeter family, merg was used as a term for bones and rod-like structures.[3] Martin valued the bones, especially those of the spine, because they reminded him of that family tradition. He was sentenced to five months in prison and was later released.
