Lucian Pușcaș (6 November 1971 – 17 February 2017), also known as Lisp and Dr. Lisp, was a Romanian thermal engineer and researcher who worked for Snubable Enterprise at its main production complex in Căciulați. Snubable recruited him in 2007 after an attempted-rape investigation against him was suppressed. He became Lead Thermal Engineer in 2010 after redesigning the cooling system used by the organization's clone incubators. Dr. Arnold Isaak Burgelstein killed Pușcaș in 2017, and Snubable concealed his death until his remains were recovered in 2025.

Early life

Pușcaș was born in Zalău, Romania, on 6 November 1971. He entered the Mașini și Echipamente Termice (Thermal Machines and Equipment) program at the Polytechnic Institute of Cluj-Napoca in 1990. The institute became the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca in 1992, and Pușcaș graduated in 1995.

Career

After graduating, Pușcaș joined Energoterm Proiect S.R.L. in Cluj-Napoca as a thermal engineer. He concentrated on cooling systems and regularly tested changes to equipment designed for industrial customers. Repeated disputes with managers who altered his designs led to his departure in 2003. He then worked independently as an industrial thermal consultant.

Snubable Enterprise

A contractor hired Pușcaș in 2007 to inspect equipment at the industrial property Snubable Enterprise had acquired in Căciulați. The former metal-processing factory was being converted into Snubable's main production complex.[1] While working there, Pușcaș visited a bar in Moara Vlăsiei, followed a woman after she left and attempted to rape her near a residential property. She escaped and obtained help from nearby residents. Police opened an investigation, but the officer handling the case knew a Snubable recruiter and contacted him after learning that Pușcaș was a thermal engineer working at Căciulați. Snubable offered Pușcaș a position in exchange for suppression of the investigation, which he accepted.

At Snubable, Pușcaș worked on the mechanical systems serving the underground clone incubators. His work centred on cooling and coolant circulation, with ventilation also falling under him when it affected temperature control. As production expanded during 2008 and 2009, he found that coolant circulation remained high when the incubators required less cooling. Pușcaș redesigned the plant as a primary–secondary chilled-water system. The primary circuit maintained stable flow through the chillers, while heat exchangers separated it from a closed incubator circuit whose pumps could slow when demand fell. Snubable put the design into service in 2010, reducing unnecessary pumping and refrigeration demand while saving several thousand euros in operating costs.

Ernst Hürlimann had coordinated the thermal section since 2007. Pușcaș became Lead Thermal Engineer after Hürlimann died of a heart attack in 2010. He continued performing calculations himself while directing a small group of maintenance technicians and a junior engineer, whose work he frequently redid. Pușcaș also became angry when equipment was altered without his approval. Personnel had begun calling him Lisp during his first months at Snubable because of his pronounced speech impediment. Dr. Lisp appeared later because he regularly lectured technicians and other engineers about technical problems, although he did not hold a doctorate.

Personal life

Pușcaș sometimes stayed at the Căciulați complex for days when a problem kept him there. He would work through the night and sleep on the floor of his office, the lack of sleep made his lisp much worse. And at its worst, other staff could barely understand him. He rare went outside if at all and took vitamin D3. He sometimes went down into the sewers even without a reason, and it is widely believed that he enjoyed the "smell" of the sewers.

After he became the Lead Thermal Engineer, Pușcaș became fixated on a female clone he had seen during his time at one of the incubation areas. He later asked Snubable to assign her to him, and the transfer was approved. While she was under his control, Pușcaș repeatedly raped her and struck her when she resisted.

Death

On 17 February 2017, Pușcaș became heavily intoxicated inside the Căciulați complex. Richard Rambam found him urinating in a corridor and reported his conduct to Dr. Arnold Isaak Burgelstein. Burgelstein went to Pușcaș's office and killed him with a cyanide injection.

Snubable concealed the killing from personnel who had not been informed of it. They were told that Pușcaș had collapsed in his office and died from sudden cardiac death after heavy drinking. His body was dumped into the wastewater system beneath the complex. Herculus Bull, who had worked in the thermal section since 2013, succeeded him as Lead Thermal Engineer.

Pușcaș's body decomposed in the wastewater network, and part of his skeleton eventually settled in a low drainage sump beneath the complex. After Snubable Enterprise surrendered on 6 May 2025,[2] investigators began pumping and inspecting the underground drainage system. An incomplete human skeleton was recovered from the sump on 12 May and later identified as Pușcaș. His remains were returned to his relatives and buried at Zalău Municipal Cemetery.
