The setting is organized around structural development across time. Historical change is understood primarily through shifts in dominant systems of authority, organization, and social logic rather than isolated events.

Scope

The universe spans the period from the fifteenth century to the present day.

Real-world locations, institutions, and historical contexts may appear in modified or abstracted form. The setting does not attempt to reproduce documented history. Instead, it maintains internal coherence while incorporating recognizable geographic and historical references.

Continuity

The Vrienden Universe follows a single, continuous timeline. Later eras emerge directly from the structural outcomes of earlier periods.
