Toonio Noord (born 4 April 1969) is a Dutch registration official and former security guard from Vriendendam. He works for the Stichting Noord Registratiebureau and is a member of the Noord family.
Early life and education
Toonio Noord was born in Vriendendam on 4 April 1969. His father was Karl van Noord. He grew up in his parents' row house in Vriendendam and attended school in the town.
Noord later completed vocational training in administrative support and industrial site security.
Career
In 1988, Noord began working as a security guard at the industrial site of Vriendendam. His duties included gate control, patrol work, visitor logging, vehicle checks, night watch duties, and access supervision around workshops, storage buildings, and offices. He worked in industrial security until 1993.
In 1994, Noord joined the Stichting Noord Registratiebureau. His work included filing, identity checks, document intake, registration review, maintenance of local records, record verification, archive control, and correction of incomplete files.
Personal life
Toonio Noord is a cousin of Walter Noord. He remained based in Vriendendam and lived with his parents until 1998, when he moved out at the age of 29.
On 17 September 1993, when Noord was 24 years old, neighbors called police to his parents' row house in Vriendendam after a noise disturbance at about 03:00. Noord had connected a shower hose from the bathroom to his second-floor bedroom and sprayed water out of the window for about 45 minutes while laughing loudly. Officers found him visibly drunk, and a breath alcohol screening gave a result of 1,086 micrograms of alcohol per litre of breath, equal to about 2.4‰ blood alcohol. In his statement, Noord said he had first spat several times out of the window and then used the hose to continue the disturbance. He was fined for disturbing the night’s rest.
