Mircea Slugerul din Argeș

Mircea Slugerul din Argeș (c. 1450 – c. 1500) was a minor Wallachian noble and the father of Dragos Ionuț, founder of the House of Ionuț. Mircea was the son of a man named Vicu.

Relationship with Dragos Ionuț

Mircea met a woman named Elena during a one-night encounter. After Elena became pregnant, he abandoned her and refused responsibility for the child. She gave birth to Dragos near Bucharest on 12 April 1478.

Elena later left the infant at Mircea's residence because she could not support him. Mircea rejected the child and ordered that he be removed. Dragos was abandoned on the street before being taken in by a church-affiliated monastery.

Death

There are multiple theories regarding Mircea's death. One suggests that he died by self-beheading using a guillotine, as he was reportedly very depressed in his later years. Another theory claims he suffered a fatal heart attack. A third possibility is that he was murdered under unknown circumstances. Some accounts speculate that he may have lived longer than recorded, as there are no confirmed records of his death or official documentation following his estimated death.
