Adrian Corneșanu (6 February 1968 – 11 November 2016) was a Romanian notary who processed property records used by Snubable Enterprise. He was murdered by Dorin Vasile Bălănescu after discovering backdated ownership documents concerning a Snubable facility near Balotești.[1]
Career
[edit | edit source]Corneșanu worked as a notary in Bucharest. He authenticated property documents submitted through the administrative network used by Snubable Enterprise.
On 4 November 2016, Corneșanu found two backdated title records for an industrial property near Balotești. The documents carried Bălănescu's filing code but identified different owners. Corneșanu retained copies and informed Bălănescu that he would stop processing documents for the organization.[1]
Murder
[edit | edit source]Bălănescu arranged to meet Corneșanu at a boathouse on the southern shore of Lake Snagov on 11 November 2016. Corneșanu arrived at approximately 6:40 p.m. Bălănescu struck him unconscious and placed him in the lake beside an untethered motorboat.
Bălănescu started the boat and left Corneșanu's coat and telephone inside it to present the death as a boating accident. Corneșanu drowned, and his body was recovered near Snagov on 12 November 2016.
The death was recorded as an accident on 15 November 2016. Investigators reopened the case in May 2025 after recovering Corneșanu's appointment entry and a copy of the disputed property record from documents concealed by Bălănescu.[1]
