Early Foundation Era
The Early Foundation Era was the historical period from 1400 to 1759, preceding the Stamvader Era. It contains the earliest traceable foundations of later families and organizations. Its end is fixed at the close of 1759.
The period includes the foundation of the Butchers and the House of Ionuț in Wallachia. These organizations formed the earliest documented institutional line that continued into later eras.[1][2]

1496
[edit | edit source]- Dragos Ionuț gave the Butchers network permanent membership in Bucharest. Individual crews retained their own commanders.[1]
Late 1490s
[edit | edit source]- Dragos established the House of Ionuț as a self-proclaimed Wallachian house. He opened its register and used the title Sir Dragos I. Wallachian authorities did not recognize the House.[2]
1521

- 23 November – Grozav Ionuț killed Dragos in Wallachia and seized the Butchers.[3]
- 24 November – Grozav declared himself head of the House of Ionuț.[3]
- December
- 2 December – Mihai Ionuț read the affiliated households' rejection of Grozav's claim. Stefan Ionuț began removing Butchers commanders who continued to recognize Grozav.[3]
- 18 December – Stefan entered the main Butchers storehouse with crews that had changed sides. Grozav lost control of the organization and fled into the Holy Roman Empire, ending the 1521 Ionuț succession crisis.[3]
1522

- 12 April – Mihai restored the House of Ionuț and became its head. Stefan remained leader of the Butchers.[4]
1759
[edit | edit source]- The Early Foundation Era ended at the close of 1759. The Stamvader Era began in 1760.
