History
[edit | edit source]The Stommeler Busch was woodland owned jointly by families from Stommeln, who used it for firewood and building timber. In 1846, they divided the forest into 207 plots and sold them.
Much of the woodland was cleared soon afterwards. The first houses were built in 1848, and the new settlement became known as Stommelerbusch.
