Template:Rewrite
This page is marked for rewrite. It may be out of date or no longer follow current wiki standards. The marking date was not recorded. See pages marked for rewrite for guidance.
This template marks an article that needs a substantial rewrite while keeping its existing content available.
Usage
[edit source]Place the template at the top of the article, before its infobox and lead. The template must be substituted so it can record the date:

Use the optional reason parameter to identify the main problem:
{{subst:Rewrite|reason=The article no longer reflects the current organization of the subject.}}
The saved article text will contain a normal template call with an ICR 400 date in YYYY-MM-DD format, for example:
{{Rewrite|date=2026-09-12}}
The template automatically adds main-namespace articles to Category:Pages marked for rewrite. Its banner shows the marking date. After more than seven days, the banner turns red and states that the page has been marked for rewrite for more than one week.
