Editing Dâmbovița County (section)

Geography
Dâmbovița County is located in southern Romania. The northern part reaches the Bucegi Mountains and the southern Carpathian area. The central part is hilly, while the southern part opens into lower plain land toward the Bucharest region. This north-to-south change shaped the county's settlement pattern, with mountain and hill communities in the north and larger road connections across the lower southern part.

The county is crossed by the Ialomița River and the Dâmbovița River. Târgoviște is located in the central part of the county. Dâmbovița County borders Brașov County and Prahova County to the north and east, Argeș County to the west, and Ilfov County, Giurgiu County, and Teleorman County to the south.
