Dâmbovița County (Romanian: Județul Dâmbovița) is a county in southern Romania, in the historical region of Muntenia. Its county seat is Târgoviște.

The county includes Răcari, Colacu, and Ulmi. Colacu was the birthplace of Richard Rambam and Peter Pecker. Târgoviște and Ulmi were part of the final escape route of Iakob Ionuț on 2 May 2025.

Geography

[edit | edit source]

Dâmbovița County is located in southern Romania. The northern part of the county reaches the southern Carpathian area, while the southern part lies in lower land closer to Bucharest.

The county is crossed by the Ialomița River and the Dâmbovița River. Târgoviște is located in the central part of the county.

Administration

[edit | edit source]

Târgoviște is the county seat and main administrative city. Răcari is a town in the county and administers several villages, including Colacu.

Ulmi is a commune near Târgoviște. It became the place where Iakob Ionuț died after his escape through the county.

History

[edit | edit source]

Dâmbovița County developed around Târgoviște, a historic city of Wallachia. Târgoviște later remained the main administrative centre of the county.

The county contains rural settlements, towns, roads, farms, workshops, and industrial areas. These places shaped the later history of Colacu, Răcari, Târgoviște, and Ulmi.

Snubable Enterprise origins

[edit | edit source]

In the 1990s, Richard Rambam and Peter Pecker used sheds and farm buildings around Colacu for early cloning work.

In 1998, Rambam and Pecker cloned a stray dog in a shed near Colacu. This became the first successful cloning result before the formal structure of Snubable Enterprise in 1999.

Final escape of Iakob Ionuț

[edit | edit source]

On 2 May 2025, Iakob Ionuț fled through Dâmbovița County after the collapse of the Bucharest Butchers. He killed Ana-Maria Nistor in Târgoviște and used her Renault Clio to continue his escape.

Iakob later crashed the car near Ulmi. He left the vehicle and continued on foot. Hugo Hugerinus Paap shot him near Ulmi during the final pursuit.
