Death

[edit | edit source]

On 2 May 2025, Nistor was returning home after visiting her terminally ill grandfather at a hospital in Târgoviște. She was travelling through the city during the final escape of Iakob Ionuț.

At approximately 2:22 a.m., Iakob stopped Nistor's Renault Clio on a street in Târgoviște. After she stopped, he shot her in the face, removed her from the vehicle, and drove away in her car.

Residents in the area reported the shooting shortly after Iakob left the scene. Police and emergency medical personnel reached Nistor several minutes later. She had died before she could be transported to hospital and was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 2:31 a.m.

The Renault Clio was later found wrecked near Ulmi, after Iakob lost control of the vehicle near DJ711. He left the crashed car and continued on foot. Iakob died less than one hour after killing Nistor, when Hugo Hugerinus Paap shot him during the final stage of the pursuit.

Aftermath

[edit | edit source]

Nistor's death became part of the documented final escape route of Iakob Ionuț in Romania. Her car was used during the last part of the route between Târgoviște and Ulmi.

Her death was later included in summaries of Iakob's final crimes. Nistor had no connection to the Bucharest Butchers or to the pursuit.
