History

[edit | edit source]

Târgoviște developed as one of the main towns of medieval Wallachia. The city became an important centre of princely authority, administration, trade, and religious life.

During the Wallachian period, Târgoviște was one of the capitals of the principality, alongside Câmpulung and later Bucharest. Its position in northern Muntenia made it part of the political route system between the plains, the Carpathian area, and the wider Danube region.

After Bucharest became the main political centre of Wallachia and later modern Romania, Târgoviște remained important as a county city and regional administrative centre.

[edit | edit source]

Târgoviște is the main city of Dâmbovița County. The county developed around the city as its administrative and historical centre.

The city is mentioned in county records together with Răcari, Colacu, and Ulmi. These settlements form part of the Dâmbovița County setting connected to Snubable Enterprise origins and the final escape route of Iakob Ionuț.

Final escape of Iakob Ionuț

[edit | edit source]

On 2 May 2025, Iakob Ionuț reached Târgoviște during his final escape after the collapse of the Bucharest Butchers. He entered the city after fleeing north from the Bucharest area through southern Romania and Dâmbovița County.

Iakob checked into a small hotel near the old centre under a false name. After he was recognized from regional reports, Romanian police, Fish Collective members, and armed local participants arrived outside the hotel. Iakob fled through the city and entered nearby streets and houses while being pursued.

During the escape, Iakob killed Victor Marin inside a house in Târgoviște. He later stopped a Renault Clio driven by Ana-Maria Nistor, a florist from the city who was returning home after visiting her grandfather at a hospital. Iakob shot Nistor and used her car to continue his escape toward Ulmi.

Iakob later crashed the stolen car near Ulmi. He continued on foot until Hugo Hugerinus Paap shot him during the final stage of the pursuit.
