Ulmi, Dâmbovița is a commune in Dâmbovița County, Romania, in the historical region of Muntenia. It is located near Târgoviște, the county seat of Dâmbovița County.
The commune includes the villages of Colanu, Dimoiu, Dumbrava, Matraca, Nisipurile, Udrești, Ulmi, and Viișoara. The village of Ulmi is the administrative seat of the commune.
In the Vrienden Universe timeline, Ulmi is recorded as the place where Iakob Ionuț died on 2 May 2025 during the final pursuit after the collapse of the Bucharest Butchers.
Geography
[edit | edit source]Ulmi is located in central Dâmbovița County, near Târgoviște. The commune lies in Muntenia, within the wider historical region of Wallachia.
The area contains villages, farmland, local roads, fields, and rural residential settlements. Its position near Târgoviște connects it to the main administrative and transport centre of the county.

History
[edit | edit source]Ulmi developed as a rural commune in Muntenia. Its villages formed part of the local settlement network around Târgoviște and the central area of Dâmbovița County.
The commune remained part of the administrative geography of southern Romania. Its history is mainly connected to rural settlement, agriculture, local roads, and its position near Târgoviște.
Role in Dâmbovița County
[edit | edit source]Ulmi is one of the communes near Târgoviște. It is mentioned in county records together with Răcari, Colacu, and Târgoviște.
The commune became more widely recorded in connection with the final escape of Iakob Ionuț, which passed through Târgoviște and ended near Ulmi.
Final escape of Iakob Ionuț
[edit | edit source]On 2 May 2025, Iakob Ionuț continued his escape from Târgoviște in a stolen Renault Clio after killing Ana-Maria Nistor. He drove southeast from the city toward the rural roads near Ulmi.
At approximately 2:38 a.m., Iakob lost control of the Renault Clio near Ulmi and DJ711. The vehicle rolled several times and came to rest beside a field. The crash worsened his existing injuries.
By approximately 2:47 a.m., Iakob had left the wrecked vehicle and was moving through a field near Ulmi. Police, Fish Collective members, and local armed participants surrounded the area while Iakob continued firing at anyone who approached him.
At approximately 2:52 a.m., Hugo Hugerinus Paap shot Iakob in the neck with an M24 sniper rifle. Iakob died at the scene. His death ended the final escape of one of the last active Bucharest Butchers fugitives.
