== Early life ==

Kleiner was born in [[Rada Tilly]], [[Argentina]], into a family of mixed German and Argentine background. In 1955, at the age of 15, he joined the [[Paapjugend des Jan Paap]]. At 17, he traveled to [[Tanoa]] for the first time. In later recollections, he described the island as “mysterious” and “magical”, marking the beginning of his long-term involvement with the regime.
