== Responsibilities ==

The Reichsführer-SS served as the chief authority responsible for directing the structure and operations of the [[Allgemeine SS]]. Responsibilities included supervising internal security systems, coordinating administrative departments, and maintaining command over SS personnel and institutions.

The office oversaw the central security authority, the [[Tanoanischssicherheitshauptamt]], which coordinated major intelligence and policing organizations including the [[Geheime Staatspolizei]], [[Kriminalpolizei]], [[Sicherheitsdienst von Eef Paap]], and the [[Tanoanischsicherheitsdienst]]. Through these agencies, the Reichsführer-SS directed surveillance programs, internal investigations, and security operations.

In addition to security institutions, the office supervised demographic and administrative bodies such as the [[Rasse- und Siedlungshauptamt]], which managed population classification, lineage documentation, and settlement administration within the regime.

The Reichsführer-SS also exercised command authority over armed formations and divisional units assigned to the Allgemeine SS, including escort units, guard formations, and specialized operational groups.
