The Reichsführer-SS was the highest leadership position within the Allgemeine SS of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen. The office holder served as the supreme commander of the organization and directed its administrative, security, and paramilitary structures.
The position reported directly to the Führer of Tanoa and exercised authority over the entire institutional framework of the Allgemeine SS, including intelligence services, policing organizations, demographic administration offices, and internal security formations. The Reichsführer-SS operated from the organization’s headquarters in Georgetown and supervised SS activities across territories governed by the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen.
The office existed from the establishment of the Allgemeine SS in 1944 until the dissolution of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen on 30 November 2024.
Responsibilities
[edit | edit source]The Reichsführer-SS served as the chief authority responsible for directing the structure and operations of the Allgemeine SS. Responsibilities included supervising internal security systems, coordinating administrative departments, and maintaining command over SS personnel and institutions.
The office oversaw the central security authority, the Tanoanischssicherheitshauptamt, which coordinated major intelligence and policing organizations including the Geheime Staatspolizei, Kriminalpolizei, Sicherheitsdienst von Eef Paap, and the Tanoanischsicherheitsdienst. Through these agencies, the Reichsführer-SS directed surveillance programs, internal investigations, and security operations.
In addition to security institutions, the office supervised demographic and administrative bodies such as the Rasse- und Siedlungshauptamt, which managed population classification, lineage documentation, and settlement administration within the regime.
The Reichsführer-SS also exercised command authority over armed formations and divisional units assigned to the Allgemeine SS, including escort units, guard formations, and specialized operational groups.
Authority within the state structure
[edit | edit source]Within the political structure of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen, the Reichsführer-SS was one of the most senior leadership positions. While formally subordinate to the Führer of Tanoa, the office exercised extensive authority over security institutions, administrative departments, and enforcement structures.
The Reichsführer-SS maintained direct oversight of SS headquarters in Georgetown and coordinated regional command structures across the island of Tanoa. Through the SS administrative network, the office influenced civil administration, population registration systems, and internal security operations.
The position also maintained institutional coordination with financial authorities such as the Reichsschatzamt von Tanoa and with other state organizations operating within the governance framework of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen.
Office holders
[edit | edit source]The position of Reichsführer-SS was held by three individuals during the existence of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen.
| Name | Term of office | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Jose Alem | 1944–1985 | First Reichsführer-SS and organizer of the early structure of the Allgemeine SS. |
| Eduardo Krüger | 1985–2005 | Oversaw expansion of coordination between administrative institutions, security services, and financial structures. |
| Chiche Alem | 2005–2024 | Final Reichsführer-SS. Directed the organization until his death on 3 November 2024 shortly before the collapse of the regime. |
Dissolution
[edit | edit source]The office of Reichsführer-SS ceased to exist on 30 November 2024 when the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen collapsed. With the dissolution of the Allgemeine SS, the central command authority of the organization was formally disbanded and the position was abolished.
Following the termination of the regime’s institutional framework, SS administrative departments and command structures were dismantled and the authority previously exercised by the Reichsführer-SS ended.
