Carlos Gustavo Schweitzer (Born 20 April 1953 - 13 July 2023) was a high-ranking Allgemeine SS general and leader of the SS Fischjägergruppen from 2019 to 2023. He held the position of head leader within the Fischjägergruppen and was regarded as a prominent figure within the Tanoan Einsatzgruppen. Schweitzer's leadership is characterized by a reputation for decisiveness and assertiveness, contributing to his recognition as a significant leader within the organization. While opinions on his methods may vary, his role was acknowledged as crucial for suppressing Mark Hugerinus Paap on the island of Tanoa.

Other generals such as Chiche Alem described him as the "Teufel der Fische" (Devil of the Fish) for his personal hatred towards Mark and the Fish Collective. He was one of the founding heads of the SS Fischjägergruppen, a sub-department of the Allgemeine SS charged with seeking out and suppressing Mark Hugerinus Paap for Eef Paap via intellegence, ambushes and protection of roads and buildings. He was personally involved in this manner and actively looked for Mark's tracks. After a certain attack from Mark Schweitzer personally went to the scene despite the dangers. He was directly responsible for the extermination of natives that talked to Mark, as rumors spread that Schweitzer executed those natives himself.

Early life

[edit | edit source]

Carlos Gustavo Schweitzer was born in 20 April 1953 in Comodoro Rivadavia to Einsatz officer and housewife Alfredo Eugen Schweitzer and his wife, Adelaida Albina Blanco Gonzales. His father came from a small village in the Salta region in Argentina and his mother came from Comodoro Rivadavia, where Schweitzer was later born. Carlos was a Roman Catholic attending evening prayers every week. His name Carlos was given by his father because his father wanted him to have a strong name, his middle name Gustavo was given for the same reason.

Schweitzer's family held poor financial means until Jan Paap granted Schweitzer's father a promising place in the Allgemeine SS in 1964. His father was part of war crimes and was a nationalist with loyalties to Jan Paap's cause. Which he indoctrinated on his two children, Schweitzer's household was strict, Schweitzer, initially a shy and respectful boy was forced by his father to build up his strength and will to work for the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen. Schweitzer and his younger brother Antonio had to attend the Paapjugend school in Comodoro Rivadavia daily, this changed Schweitzer's personality within a few years. Carlos picked the Allgemeine SS department because his father was in it, during the years Schweitzer grew as an officer within the ranks of the Paapjugend, in 1971 he completed his Paapjugend training and joined the Allgemeine SS where he joined the 1st Allgemeine SS Division Siege Chiche. He also joined the NSTAP after his graduation, while most Paapjugend members joined the NSTAP before their graduation.

Schweitzer's Photography

[edit | edit source]

Schweitzer was fond of taking pictures and maintained a strictly private photographic collection throughout his time in Fiji and on Tanoa. The photographs were taken solely for personal use and were never intended for publication or official circulation. His collection consisted largely of spontaneous and unstructured images, often taken repeatedly without apparent order.

Most of the photographs depicted locations connected to his activities, including roads, rural areas, compounds, interiors of buildings, and scenes from ongoing operations. Alongside these, a substantial number of images focused on dinosaurs, which Schweitzer showed a strong personal fascination with and photographed extensively. These images ranged from displays and figures to illustrations and staged scenes, which he documented obsessively over several years.

The collection was discovered inside Schweitzer’s residence following the downfall of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen. The photographs were described as highly personal in nature and reflective of Schweitzer’s private interests rather than formal or propagandistic material, offering insight into the personal habits of Carlos Guillermo Schweitzer outside his public and military role.

Career

[edit | edit source]

Schweitzer's career in the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen started in 1971 when he joined the 1st Allgemeine SS Division "Siege Chiche". As an Untersturmführer he was in charge of a small unit that patrolled around on Ravi-Ta.

Schweitzer was wounded in Georgetown when he was shopping with his wife on 20 June 2020 as a result of an assassination attempt by Mark Hugerinus Paap. He was shot in the back from a long distance shot and spend a year in recovery. After his recovery, Schweitzer held a public speech with more than 100 thousand soldiers and civilians about the danger of Mark Hugerinus Paap. And declared that anyone who is seen helping Mark will be shot on sight.

On the 13th of July in 2023, Schweitzer was ambushed as he was driving in his Kubelwagen through the country side of Tanoa, his driver was shot in the head that resulted the car to crash into a tree. Then he got out of the car while badly injured, Mark Hugerinus Paap walked up to him as Schweitzer tried to crawl away, Schweitzer died to a shot to the head. The Tanoa Einsatz falsely linked Mark to the native villages that surrounded the place where Schweitzer died, resulting in the execution of women and children, men were deported to concentration camps.
